Celebrating the birth of my site with a chocolate chip cookie baked in the shape of my AN logo.

Just kidding. 🙂 It was actually my younger brother’s birthday today, so I baked him a batch of his favorite cookies.  His initials also happen to be AN (and my logo was designed by him,) so it worked out perfectly.

Along those lines, my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is the one on the back of Nestle’s Toll House’s Semi-Sweet Morsels.  And after experimenting with a variety of different chocolate chip cookie recipes, I have come to the conclusion that it is the mix of brown sugar and white sugar that gives it its delectable, melt-in-the-mouth flavor.  The mix of half brown sugar and half white sugar goes really well in any chocolate dish, I have found, and truly accentuates the taste of the chocolate.  So, next time you are backing chocolate mousse, chocolate cookies, or chocolate cake, be sure to try substituting half of the granulated sugar with brown sugar, and get ready to taste paradise!
