Above is my first crocheted sweater, made with 100% wool and cables. The pattern created a sweater slightly too large for me, so I adjusted the dimensions a bit. In the end it fitted perfectly, and keeps me toasty warm. Just in time for the freezing Pittsburgh winters!
Unfortunately, there is a surprising dearth of male crocheted cable sweater patterns out there. However, at this point I believe I have had enough experience with cables (through this sweater, the Tree of Life Afghan, and various scarves ) to convert a knitted sweater pattern into crocheting. For my next project, I intend to take a knitted aran sweater from The Best of Knitter’s Arans & Celtics and convert it to a crocheting pattern (for size, I will follow the written measurements as oppose to the number of stitches.) Oh, and I intend to use a more lively color, perhaps a nice yellow-orange.
Pattern can be found here.
